Is the scarcity real, or is this a countdown that resets on Monday?
Real, and you can audit it. The board above reads the live count straight out of our database — the same row that mints the badge. There is no timer anywhere on this page, because the offer does not end on a date. It ends when the fiftieth person takes a slot.
What's actually stopping you from raising my price later?
Mechanically: your subscription sits on the price object you signed up on, and raising a price at Stripe creates a new one. Existing subscriptions do not move to it. That is not a promise about our intentions, it is how the billing works — and we record the exact price you locked, on your account, the day you join.
What if I switch between S and X later?
Changing plans through the billing portal re-prices you at whatever the new plan costs that day — Stripe does that, not us, and we would rather tell you than let you find out. So we snapshot BOTH prices the day you join. Message us when you switch and we will put you back on your founder rate by hand.
Do I lose the badge if I cancel?
No. Founder #12 was founder #12, and telling you otherwise the month your card expires would be both untrue and a pretty grim thing to do. The badge stays. The price lock and the credit discount pause while the membership is inactive, and come back if you resubscribe on your locked rate.
Why fifty and not five hundred?
Because fifty locked prices is a number two people can actually honour for years, and five hundred is how a founders offer quietly becomes the standard price. We would rather the badge mean something in 2029.
You're a two-person studio. What if you stop?
Then you cancel and you have lost a month. There is no annual lock-in, no contract, and nothing here that needs you to commit further than the next billing date. That is deliberate — an offer that needs a year up front is asking you to take the risk we should be taking.
